Made it to Florida only to have a tropical storm bearing down on us? Great. Actually looks like it will stay east but who knows, it could shift slightly and cause a day of fun for the panhandle, where I am. All it would really mean for me is a day not spent on the beach and I'd have to buy twice as much beer for the fridge and probably rent some movies. Big deal. Still beats working.
Arrived yesterday afternoon after spending the night in Vicksburg, Mississippi at some little casino called DiamondJacks on the Miss. River. We didn't plan on that, but it was pouring so hard you couldn't see the road at times (Steve was following me in his truck) so we just picked an exit and took it. Low and behold there was a casino so we ended up playing slots, video poker and craps until the wee hours. I actually ended up waking up the next morning with more cash than I had when I left for the trip so it all went pretty well.
We hit all 3 little bars close to our condo last night, but none were very good. Had a good bit of Yuengling brew on tap and again I wonder why we can't get this delicious beer in Arkansas.
This morning I took a great 4 mile jog right along the beach on a killer jogging trail. I would run every single morning if I had this trail near my house. Lots of runners and walkers and bikers and it's a gorgeous scenic run. How could anyone live down here and not be in shape? After the jog we broke out the frisbee and hit the beach for another workout with occasional breaks to dip in the ocean, which felt great, then hit the pool at the condo. All this was before 9:30 AM. It's a great day.
I'll upload some pics later.
