Best of 2008: TV

This was a good year of TV, with a few new shows getting my attention and holding it. The advent of DVR sure makes it a lot easier to follow my favorite shows and often turns Sunday into "lay on the couch and catch up with what went down all week" day. I added a few shows to the rotation (Sons Of Anarchy, True Blood, Fringe) and dropped a few (Heroes among them), but a lot of my favorites for the year are the same as the last few years...

Guilty Pleasure: Bret Michael's Rock of Love (VH1)... oh man all these skanks and silicon and drinking and fighting and... well. I'm just very entertained in a Jerry Springer sort of way.

Favorite Reality Show: The Ultimate Fighter (Spike)... Junie Browning was annoying but entertaining in this year's version plus my friend Roli Delgado was on the latest season. I never miss this show.

Best Finale: The Shield... now that's how you do a finale episode. Awesome. Quite possibly one of the single best episodes of any show in TV history.

Best Comeback: Lost... it got back to what made me a fan.

Biggest Disappointment: Heroes... dropped it off my viewing list altogether.

Best New Show: I started out not liking True Blood (HBO) that much but I stayed with it and was a fan by the end. Lots of good characters. Sons Of Anarchy is also sort of fun, in a Sopranos meet Harley Davidson sort of way.

Best Comedy: The Office... this season was funnier than it has been in the last few years.

Best Animated Show: American Dad... this has jumped in front of the others to me lately. It was hilarous this year.

Favorite Actor: David Duchovny on Californication is hilarious. Michael Chiklis on The Shield and Michael C. Hall on Dexter both rule weekly as well.

Favorite Actress: Jennifer Carpenter... plays Debra Morgan on Dexter, she's tough yet vunerable with a foul mouth... cool

Hottest Actress: Olivia Wilde... plays Dr. Remy 'Thirteen' Hadley on House... keeps me up at night. I love her.
