A Fast & Furious Friday

I"ve been so ridiculously busy lately I've completely fallen behind in my movie watching. There are no less than a half-dozen movies in the theater right now I'd like to see and another couple coming out today. I guess I'll be raiding the Red Box in a few months to catch up on some of this stuff though because I won't have any more free time this weekend either as my schedule is pretty loaded up for tomorrow already, what with Disturbed bringing their Music As A Weapon Tour to town tomorrow night. They're bringing Killswitch Engage and Chimaira with them, among others. Honey, fetch me my metal horns!

Here's the new movies hitting the theaters today as well:

Adventureland

The Plot: During the summer of 1987, recent college grad James Brennan (Eisenberg) takes what he thinks is a going-nowhere job at his local amusement park, only to discover it's a perfect opportunity to prepare himself for the real world.
My Thoughts: It looks like Superbad set in the 80s really, and I don't mean that to be a bad thing. I love the 80s and love Superbad. Sold.

Fast & Furious

The Plot: The feud between ex-con Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and agent Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) is reignited back in Los Angeles, where a crime has pitted the two men against one another yet again. However, when they realize they have a common enemy, they put their past behind them and unite to stick it to their foe.
My Thoughts: They did re-unite the original cast at least, and the trailer is really slick... but c'mon. You pretty much know everything you need to know about this before you walk into the theater. It'll be slick, cool and have lots of car chases. Sweet.
