The Expendables = Pure Awesomeness

I don't want to get carried away here, but I think it's pretty obvious that The Expendables is going to be the greatest movie in the history of movies. Why? Well how about Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Terry Crews and Arnold Schwarzenegger for starters. Only the great assemblage of acting chops in the history of the universe. And if you disagree they might just smash your face. Collectively they've kicked more ass on film than all the other movies without them, ever, added together. This is like the absolute polar opposite of a chick flick.

So what's it about? Who really gives a crap. Watch the pretty explosions on this trailer and zip it:

Good Night For Fights

Not only does the new season of The Ultimate Fighter debut tonight on Spike but they've got a fight card as well with 4 televised fights (at least) on UFC Fight Night 21: Florian vs. Gomi. I'm actually very excited about the top 3 fights on this card so I've got the DVR set as I'll be on the road.

* Kenny Florian vs. Takanori Gomi
* Roy Nelson vs. Stefan Struve
* Nate Quarry vs. Jorge Rivera
* Ross Pearson vs. Dennis Siver

I really like Stefan Struve and he's won 3 straight and I can't stand Roy Nelson so that'll be interesting. I hope they stand up with Stephan's big reach but Roy is going to obviously try to get it to the ground. Nate Quarry is one of my favorites just because he likes to stand right in front of people and go toe-to-toe. Sure, not the smartest way to win a fight sometimes but damned if it's not fun to watch. And Jorge will probably do the same. I like Ken-Flo a lot too but Gomi is sort of a legend in the sport. This will put one of these guys right in the mix.

Here's your usual assortment of videos for the event:

Bourbon Street Bound

So Kid Rock sings about The Big Easy in his aptly named song "New Orleans"...

A jukebox shakin' and breakin' down in New Orleans
I'll be the highest hillbilly that Bourbon Street has ever seen

Perhaps he had me in mind? He might as well have, because I'm making my way down there later today with food, fun, beer and sightseeing all on the list for 3 days. I've been before, a few times actually, but my last visit was over a decade ago so I think it's time to reacquaint myself with the area. And when I go somewhere to visit I want to make sure I soak it all in. I start early, sometimes months in advance, reading about the area and history and looking for places to go and things to do.

For this trip I've watched some movies based in the area like 12 Rounds, Deja Vu, Double Jeopardy, King Creole, The Reaping, The Skeleton Key, Hatchet and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. What did I learn? Well, nothing I guess really that's usable.

I've also made a CD with some songs for the drive to get more geared up, from Fats Domino's "Walkin' To New Orleans" to Down's "New Orleans is a Dying Whore" and plenty in between like "New Orleans Ladies" by Le Roux, "Queen of New Orleans" by Jon Bon Jovi and "Ghosts Of Jackson Square" by Edwin McCain . So what did I learn from this? Well, again... nothing. But hey I'll have some songs stuck in my head as I walk around.

The top of my list of restaurants... Tujague's, Acme Oyster House, Superior Grill and Jagerhaus.

The top of my places to get some brew... Crescent City Brewhouse, Erin Rose, The Avenue Pub and Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop.

I plan on hearing some tunes at The Bombay Club and Famous Door, drinking a hurricane from Pat O'Briens and soaking up some jazz at Preservation Hall.

I've created a couple of walking tours from our hotel to take in plenty of touristy sites, starting with a morning cup of chicory coffee from Café du Monde, followed by a walking tour of the quarter, St. Louis Cathedral, a giant muffuletta for lunch at Central Grocery, a stroll down the Moonwalk and some shopping in the area before dinner. Probably on the 2nd day we'll take the St. Charles Ave. Streetcar over to the Garden District for some sightseeing, including a walk around Lafayette No. 1 Cemetery. Somewhere in there we'll probably squeeze in Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.

Whew. I'm tired and I haven't even left yet. New Orleans is a different, unique city and I plan on having a unique time.

Sexy Esti

I was just thinking it'd been a while since I posted any video or pictures of a hot woman, so let's just take care of that right now. I believe ridiculously beautiful Esti Ginzburg will do just fine so here's some video from her second SI Swimsuit 2010 shoot in India.

A Slow Tuesday

Not a slow Tuesday for me, I'm packing and getting all things in order to get out of town for 4 days, but for new releases. Only a few things that caught my eye on the release list at all and the only one I'll pick up is the comedy/horror flick I've heard so much about. I conveniently put a trailer for that one for you below.

* Sherlock Holmes DVD (action/adventure with Robert Downey Jr.)

* Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel DVD (animated family film)

* Joe Rogan ~ "Talking Monkeys In Space" CD (comedy)

* I Sell The Dead DVD (horror/comedy)

Welcome to Ghost Town

I'm feeling a little heavier today than usual I guess. Crank up this Charred Walls Of The Damned video for "Ghost Town" from their self-titled debut. Charred Walls of the Damned are an American group formed in 2009 consisting of Richard Christy (Iced Earth), Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Iced Earth), Tim "Ripper" Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth) and Jason Suecof.

Gorilla Learns About Death

Scientists Successfully Teach Gorilla It Will Die Someday

Movie Review: The Graves

Synopsis: Two inseparable sister's visit to a remote mine town turned tourist trap turns into a mind-bending fight for survival against menaces both human and supernatural.

Well, there are a few good things to note from this After Dark Horrorfest 4 entry so I'll do just that. First, there are not 1 but 2 horror legends as Tony Todd (Candyman) and Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) are in it, but they both suck here. Todd hams it up way too much and Mosely puts on a pig nose and acts like an idiot. But while I'm on the casting, at least one of the "Grave sisters" is super hot (Jillian Murray), so that's a plus. Also Randy Blythe (lead singer of Lamb of God) is in it and that's sort of cool if you're a fan of the band.

But overall the acting is pretty much atrocious, thanks in no small part to the script and dialogue. There's no tension, no scares and 90% of the gore and violence occur off-camera. Add to that the fact that there is zero originality here as it begins like a billion other horror films as the girls go to an isolated location and begin to get chased by a big killer ala every slasher movie you've ever seen. Then cliche after cliche occur and it becomes a supernatural movie or sorts, followed by more of a cult town movie ala Children of the Corn. I'm not sure they really decided what type of movie to make and it's just all over the place and by the end doesn't really make a damn bit of sense.

I will add to the plus list that the pace was good and it's not a boring, slow movie by any means. So watch it for that and to see Jillian Murray running around in a tank top and you'll be satisfied I guess.

One of the weaker After Dark Horror Fest titles for my money.

American Bang Does The Whiskey Walk

Hell yes, this song reminds me why I love rock n roll so much. This is American Bang and their video for the song "Whiskey Walk." Turn this one up.

Movie Review: The Reeds

Synopsis: A weekend boating party turns into a nightmare for a group of young Londoners when they stumble upon a terrifying secret hidden in the reeds.

Sometimes I like a horror movie that's a bit convoluted and tough to figure out what the hell is going on. But by the end, I do like there to be a good payoff with explanations and everything falls into place. Sadly with The Reeds you get neither a good payoff or everything falling into place. I thought it did a little bit, but then there's another ending tacked on after a few credits roll that put it right back in the WTF territory. And it wasn't even that good a payoff to begin.

It's just so full of stupid plot points, hallucinations and visions that are never really explained worth a flip. At the end I tried to go back through the film in my mind and explain some things and it really only made them worse. I think the director just didn't know where he was going with it quite honestly and thought if he made it ridiculously confusing enough that it might be seen as deep. Well it's not.

The good? Well it's got a terrific eerie atmosphere and setting as the location out among the reeds is great. It's set in the Norfolk Broads, a network of mostly navigable rivers and lakes in the English countryside. It starts out with a whole lot of promise as the set-up of an isolated location with what I assumed was some "evil kids" is a pretty tried-and-true formula for crazy goings-on. It feels like something bad is about to happen as the tension builds, and it does with a couple of big slices of horrific gore... then the downhill plunge begins, and unfortunately never ends. My hopes were getting built up only to be leave me scratching my head and wishing for so much more, starting with explanations.

Decent premise, poor execution.

We Are The Fallen Video

Here's the new video from We Are the Fallen for “Bury Me Alive.” The band features former Evanescence members Ben Moody, Rocky Gray and John LeCompt plus bassist Marty O’Brien and American Idol contestant Carly Smithson. Their debut album "Tear the World Down" is due out on May 11th.

Ben Moody said that We Are the Fallen differs from Evanescence in that "everyone is equal" and that it has "more energy than Evanescence could ever muster." He has also stated, "We cannot try to be who we are. If there is some similarity in sound, it's because that genre was created by us."

Silent Civilian Is The Last One Standing

Here's LA metalcore band Silent Civilian's video for the song "Last One Standing." Frontman Jonny Santos was the lead singer in another band I dug a while back, Spineshank.

Movie Review: Drive Thru

Synopsis: Horror gets super sized when Horny The Clown, the demonic mascot of "Hella-Burger," starts slashing Orange County teenagers with his meat cleaver from Hell in this horror-comedy.

A pretty deranged sort of comedy, it's probably a close kin to movies like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes or maybe Eight Legged Freaks I guess. As a horror film, it's just sort of dumb and derivative. As a comedy it's OK as there are a few humorous moments and it never takes itself very seriously at all. Still though, there's quite a bit of gore and some inventive kills. It's cheesy but the acting is actually good for what the movie is.

I also liked the masked killer, Horny the Clown. I mean really, with that name for your slasher how could you not like him? And he's a clown! I hate clowns! He actually looks sort of cool in his ridiculous outfit and mask and his weapon is bad ass.

Another huge bonus though is that ultra-hot Leighton Meester is the lead and her Mom is the also ultra hot (and 42-year-old) Melora Hardin (Jan on The Office). They can easily distract from some of the cliched goings on. There's also an awesome "cameo" by Supersize Me writer/director Morgan Spurlock as a Hellaburger manager, which you'll appreciate if you are familiar with that documentary.

Most impressive is that it's a low budget film but doesn't really look the part. It actually looks as good as a lot of much higher profile horror films that find their way to the theater. The director does a nice job on a lot of the scenes with the killer. There's also quite a few nods to 80s slasher films.

Overall... just don't expect too much, and really how could you expect too much from a low-budget flick about annoying, stereotypical teens getting wasted by a masked burger-joint mascot?

How To Train Your Hot Tub

It's fantastic not just because it's Friday, but lots of cool stuff today. Myself, well I've been watching the weather to decide if I'm driving up to Fayetteville tomorrow for a couple of college baseball games and various beer/NCAA tourney activities over the weekend. They're calling for t-storms and rain/wind etc for most of the weekend up there so no worries... I'll just stay around here and have plenty to do. Of course there's what I consider the best weekend of the NCAA tourney with all the podunk teams out of the way and not so many games on that you can't keep up. Last night's Kansas St/Xavier double-OT game last night was one of the best games I've ever seen for the record.

Tonight on Showtime is Strikeforce Challengers VII: Johnson vs. Mahe live from Fresno, Calif. There's not a lot of names I know on the card, but these shows almost always end up being a lot of fun and by the end of the show I have some new favorite fighters. Here's the main televised card:

* Lavar Johnson vs. Lolohea Mahe
* George Bush III vs. Ron "Abongo" Humphrey
* Andre Galvao vs. Luke Stewart
* Zoila Frausto vs. Miesha Tate
* Justin Wilcox vs. Shamar Bailey

And it's a good night for the DVR tonight as over on Turner Classic Movies they've declared it Ray Harryhausen night and are showing 3 of the special effects wizard's films, all of which I don't own on DVD, so that's pretty cool. They're showing Jason and the Argonauts (1963), the original Clash of the Titans (1981) and a favorite of mine growing up, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973). This would only be better if they added Mighty Joe Young, The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad and Mystery Island but hey I'll take what I can get.

Tomorrow night is UFC 111 of course.

If all that wasn't enough, 2 huge movies open in the theaters today as well and here's a quick peek at those:

Hot Tub Time Machine

Plot: Four guy friends, all of them bored with their adult lives, travel back to their respective 80s heydays thanks to a time-bending hot tub.
My Thoughts: I'm so happy this is finally in theaters. Not so I can go see it, but so they won't run the freakin' commercials over-and-over all night long! I get it, it's a "hot tub time machine" so shut the hell up already! What was the advertising budget on this? A billion dollars? Seriously, it looks pretty funny though and love both John Cusack and Craig Robinson (Darrell on The Office) so I'll check it out on video I'm sure. More good news.... Rated R for strong crude and sexual content, nudity, drug use and pervasive language. Hell yeah.

How To Train Your Dragon

Plot: Young Viking Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third (voice of Jay Baruchel) is sent to the Isle of Berk in the North Sea, where he is to subdue a dragon as a rite of passage.
My Thoughts: No way this can miss. Dreamworks Animation completely rules and 3-D is the latest movie going fad. I'm a bit torn though, because as much as I'd like to see it, the average price of a 3-D ticket is being raised 26% starting this weekend nationwide. As if the prices aren't high enough? The only way to make a stand would be if everybody boycotted this. Hell it's up to around $15 now and I can just wait and grab the DVD for probably that price or the Blu-ray for just a little more. It's not the same as the jumbo screen, but damn the prices are just out of hand. But back to the point... the film looks great.

Drowning Pool Will Shame You

Here's a pretty cool acoustic version of "Shame" by Drowning Pool from a couple of weeks ago for RevolverTV. I've always been a fan of singer Ryan McCombs voice, since his days in the band Soil.

Movie Review: The Final

Synopsis: A group of high school outcasts plan a big party so they can exact brutal revenge on the obnoxious gang of alpha males and stuck-up prom queens who have abused and belittled them.

I saw an early review on this film that said it's sort of "Saw goes to Columbine" and that's not too far from the truth. It's nowhere near as well done as most of the Saw series, nor as brutal, but it does have it's moments. And it's definitely a script right out of the headlines of today's regular school violence occurrences. But is it a good film and does it really have a big social message? Well, maybe 10 years ago. Nowadays it's just sort of cliched and a little bit ho-hum.

That's not to say it's not a decent and watchable for a cheaply done horror film. It's just probably not as powerful as it once would have been, nor as shocking. The kids all seem a bit over-the-top with their actions and stereotypical, so much so that the early high school bullying scenes seem almost satirical I thought. Then once the plan is put into motion, it gets pretty interesting and brutal, but nowhere near as brutal as it could have been as there's just too much talking and arguing going on and not enough action. It has a few gory, torture scenes but there's really not a lot of suspense or tension and then the payoff is just sort of meh.

A few other points... the kids getting revenge set up a camera at the beginning and say they're going to be Internet legends, but they never really touch on that again. If they would have shown them broadcasting live over the Internet or something that would have added something. Also all the outcasts wear masks at first, but say they weren't going to kill any of the bullies, yet they were going to kill themselves at the end? Why wear masks? Wouldn't the whole point have been to show the bullies who was getting revenge on you? It's sort of moot after a bit as they remove their masks, but it sort of made me feel like the writer just did it because it looked cooler. And frankly, the masks did look cooler. Lastly, they imprison the cool kids by slipping something in their drink. Something apparently magical that makes them all pass out and then wake up at the same time just a bit later. What the hell is that and where do I get it? Is it like a 30-minute roofie or something? Sort of silly and convenient I thought.

Most of the films it borrows so heavily are done better, but this one is still worth watching as teen revenge fantasies go. It's got a mean-spirit and some disturbing moments but doesn't really deeply address any of the problems at the root of it, but simply puts them on display yet again. If I hadn't seen it all so many times before it might be more memorable. Let's just hope we don't ever see this story again in the real world.

Bury Your Thursday

This is Bury Your Dead, a metalcore/hardcore band from Worcester, Massachusetts. This song seems like a bit of a departure from their earlier sound. It's more of mainstream approach and reminds me a bit of Sevendust. The song is "Without You" from their 5th album, "Nothing Personal".

Movie Review: Where The Wild Things Are

Synopsis: An adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, where Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world--a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler.

I think there are really 2 ways to look at this movie.

1) As simply a children's story
2) A much deeper film about the psyche of a child

If you have a child who wants to see it you'll want to treat it as option #1 I guess, although it's a bit dark for that even. As an adult viewing it I think it works more as a complex and poignant journey into a child's mind. Trying to figure out if the monsters Max creates are supposed to represent his ID, Ego and Subconscious or if each monster represents someone or something going on in his life is very interesting. I like to think it's a little of both, but it's definitely open for interpretation. At times I think Carol is the wild Max, Judith is him Mom and KW is his sister and others represent various other people or parts of his mind. I don't know that it's ever really defined who exactly is what or who, although some will claim they know. I'm guessing only Sendak really knows, and the movie varies enough from the book that director Spike Jones may have a slightly different vision himself.

Regardless, I could go on for days about that aspect of the film and that's a good enough reason to watch it. It's a very symbolic story about an imaginative, lonely boy who escapes the real world and finds the same issues in his own world he's created.

Visually it's stunning, with awesome images and top-notch special effects. It's quite odd at times perhaps (ya think?) and was actually a little slow moving too often, enough that a lot of smaller children might be turned off. It can be a bit wordy for a children's movie for sure.

In the end I found it a beautiful, charming, quirky and heartfelt film that is pretty memorable.

Movie Review: Lake Mungo

Synopsis: A sixteen-year-old girl drowns while swimming in the local lake. When her body is recovered and a verdict of accidental death returned, her grieving family buries her. The family then experiences a series of strange and inexplicable events centered in and around their home. They turn to a psychic and set-up cameras around their home to see if they can catch anything, and are startled with the results.

This is almost as much a movie about grief as it is about the supernatural, and it works on both levels. It's done documentary style, borrowing from the same sort of formula Paranormal Activity used. It's unsettling and very sad, I would think especially so for anyone who has lost a child. It feels real and at times can be a little depressing.

But it's also a mystery of sorts. It turns out the girl led a secret, double life and as the clues unfold and the family discovers her secret past the movie turns into a supernatural mystery yet still remains a family drama and documentary.

It's well-made and I found it pretty captivating. There are some really creepy scenes that I thought worked very well and the tone of the movie is very well done by the director (props to Joel Anderson) and all the actors involved. Again, it all just feels very real, which is difficult to pull off. It's got some chills, some twists and a satisfactory finish. I'm very impressed with this subtle, low budget flick and recommend checking it out.

Stouffers says the suicide prevention tips are available on all single serving microwavable dinners whether you enjoy veal parmigiana alone or beef stroganoff alone.

The All-American Rejects Rock Kimmel

Stillwater, Oklahoma's The All-American Rejects were on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and they played "Gives You Hell" and "Swing, Swing", so you know I'm gonna share 'em. And presto... here you go. So yeah, they're not actually on the Kimmel set, but playing live from the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas.

After Dark Tuesday

This is finally the day once a year where After Dark Films releases their Horrorfest. All 8 films hit at once, so look for specials. The best deal I've found yet is Best Buy has them at 2/$25. That's not as good as the last 3 years when Best Buy did all 8 for $70. Not sure why they're not staying with that price again. If you wait a few months though, most of them drop to $9.99 pretty quickly and they should even be down to $5.99 at a lot of place by Halloween. Me, personally, I've got $55 in Best Buy coupons so I may just snag them all and waste my money by being impatient, but I've got an After Dark Festival planned so I gotta get right on it. Also, here's a quick recap/review of all the titles by the gang at Dread Central in case you're just wanting to buy a few and want to know which are they think are the best this year.

Anyway, here's all the interesting new releases today:

* After Dark Horrorfest 4 DVDs (Dread / The Final / The Graves / The Hidden / Kill Theory / Lake Mungo / The Reeds / Zombies of Mass Destruction)

* Scorpions ~ "Sting in the Tail" CD (rock legends say this is their final album)

* Disturbed ~ "The Sickness: 10th Anniversary Edition" CD (2000 album; remastered, with two bonus tracks, "Welcome Burden" and "God of the Mind")

* Saliva ~ "Moving Forward in Reverse: Greatest Hits" CD (13 tracks, plus a new song, "Time to Shine")

* Social Code ~ "Rock 'N' Roll" CD (see blog here)

* Seasons After ~ "Through the Summer" CD

* Joe Bonamassa ~ "Black Rock" CD

* The Blind Side DVD (sports drama with Sandra Bullock)

* Brothers DVD (drama with Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey McGuire and Natalie Portman)

* The Men Who Stare At Goats DVD (comedy with George Clooney and Ewan McGregor)

* Damage DVD (action film with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin)

The Ratt Pack Is Back

The first new CD in 11 years from one of the bands who was the soundtrack to my life during the early college years, Ratt, is called "Infestation". As I was set to graduate my senior year of high school, "Out of the Cellar" was released and songs like "Round and Round", "Back For More", "Wanted Man" and hell the whole album really became mainstays in my mixtapes and at my parties. Over the next few years as I worked as a lifeguard during the Summer and went to college in the Spring and Fall, the albums "Invasion of Your Privacy" and "Dancing Undercover" were added to the Ratt playlist and I also saw them twice in Memphis. Yes, there were even posters of them on my wall at some point.

This is the first video from the new CD and it's for the song "Best of Me". The CD is due April 20th. I've also posted a widget for the track "Eat Me Up Alive" beneath the video. Both tracks are actually pretty good I think. See what you think.

Movie Review: 2012

Synopsis: An epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

While it's noted that the stars of this action film are John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Amanda Peet, the obvious real star is the special effects. They're the scene-stealers and almost make the plot seems sort of useless. It's really just one big long "wow" with occasionally back-stories and goings-on between the people trying to survive. It's a failure script-wise I thought but the visual thrills more than make up for it on the fun scale.

Sure, it's over-the-top (even for a disaster movie) and even ridiculously excessive but the special-effects sequences are just so damn fun I sort of forgot the silliness. It's just entertaining, not particularly thought-provoking, although I'm sure some could take some sort of lesson away from it. Not sure what lessons though... maybe that the Myans are whackos? Avoid Yellowstone Park? Really rich people will actually inherit the earth? It's OK to stowaway on a large boat and become a hero as long as you endanger the life of hundreds of thousands of people and maybe even mankind to do it?

Default Turns It On

Default's music video for "Turn It On" from their latest album Comes and Goes which is available now in stores and online. Video was shot and edited by Dave Benedict and is from the 3 Days Grace 2010 Canadian tour. Pretty catchy, rockin' song from the Canadians.

The UFC Comes To Versus Network

Pretty cool card on Versus tonight as the UFC has it's first show ever on the network. The exciting name they've come up with is "UFC on Versus 1". There's not only a huge main event between Brandon "The Truth" Vera and Johnny "Bones" Jones but a big heavyweight war between 2 big Brazilians, Gabriel Gonzaga and Junior Dos Santos. There's also a couple of interesting fights as Cheick Kongo battles Paul Buentello and James Irvin faces off with Alessio Sakara. And it's not on pay-per-view! Hooray!

So many cards have been on TV lately that the PPVs aren't nearly as appealing to me as they once were. I've gotten a couple this year, but gone are the days when I get every PPV. The level of talent in the UFC is so deep now that tonight's top 2 fights could easily be PPV main events in my opinion anyway.

My picks: Kongo wins... Sakura wins... Gonzaga tries to stand and trade with Junior Dos Santos and gets KO'd... and Jones and Vera go the distance, with Jones getting his hand raised at the end.

Here's some nice Countdown to UFC on Versus 1 videos to check out:

New Video From Otep

Here's the new video from Otep for “Rise, Rebel, Resist” from the album "Smash the Control Machine." I personally love lead vocalist Otep Shamaya and she's both a lesbian and a vegetarian, so including metal we like 2/3 of the same stuff. That's better than I usually get on EHarmony or some such site. Maybe we could hang out sometime.

Yes! Predators Trailer Is Here!

The new trailer for Predators is finally out and it was worth the wait as it looks fantastic. I'm looking more forward to July 9th now than ever.

"The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members - human "predators" that are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators."

Visit the official website for lots of goodies and further updates.

Cat Fight!

If you like hot chicks fighting, you're in luck. Here's Nonpoint's new video for "Miracle" from their upcoming CD, due May 4th, 2010.

Not sure what the hell happens here. Seems like these 2 ladies are all about sportsmanship and are having a clean MMA type fight, then the blond girl decides to murder the other one for some reason? I guess? A couple of stomps after the chick is out cold isn't that cool in my book, but I guess Nonpoint digs it. But great song anyway.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Erin Go Bragh! And all that stuff. I know you're wearing your green today right? Unless you're one of those people who likes to be pinched, then go for it. My main rule... no green beer. Nasty. Me? I'm going to see Nonpoint, Cold, Days of Fire and 16 Second Stare at Juanitas tonight. Not sure what it has to do with St. Pat's but he was the patron saint of rocking if I'm not mistaken.

Here's my post with some Irish toasts you can use later and a couple of top 10s. Or maybe you used the toasts before work, who am I to judge?

One of my favorite things about St. Pats is the song "Danny Boy", an Irish anthem of sorts. I just love it for some reason. Here's a couple versions I found for you.

First, a version from the Muppets:

Next, see the beautiful scenery of Ireland while listening to the tenor voice of Michael Londra:

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

Cavo Let It Go

Here's Cavo’s new music video for their single “Let it Go,” the third single from the group’s major label debut. I saw these guys open for Daughtry a few months ago and thought they were a solid band. Another good track here from the St. Louis gang.

I Stand Corrected

So last week I said the woman who was starring in She's Out of My League wasn't really that hot. In all fairness though, I'd only seen her in the previews for that film and thought she was cute and all, but I wasn't blown away. Consider me blown away now. Here's Alice Eve and her cover shoot for Maxim. My goodness.

So yeah, she's out of my league and actually probably on a whole other plane. Just smokin' hot. Apologies.

Bust Out The Boombox

In case you missed the debut on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, here's the hilarious (and somewhat disturbing) new video from The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone) for their song "Boombox" (ft. Julian Casablancas).
