Movie Review: Feast II: Sloppy Seconds

The monsters from Feast have made it into a small neighboring town in the middle of nowhere and the locals have to band with the survivors of the bar slaughter to figure out how to survive.

Wow, talk about a "genre fans only" movie. This is definitely it. Unless you like a lot of gross-out gore, plenty of body fluid, monster weiners aplenty and campy violence you should steer way away from this. It's probably one of the more offensive films in some time as it takes a stab at the whole horror genre and taboo.

It's also got naked, tatooed, biker chicks and little person (formerly known as midget) wrestlers as the heroes. Oh yeah, they catapolt a little person from the top of a building, do the same to an old lady in a feed bag (I'm serious) and disect a monster with gruesome, gross results from spraying body fluids. There's also a whole lot of puke. Even babies aren't safe (let that be another warning for you if you're going to be offended).

Sound like a movie for you? Since it's unrated so they really push the limits of gratuitous amounts of gore.

So what did I think though? Well if you put all this together this film is one big gross blast of fun. I don't think it's as good as the first film, but it's close and it's definitely wilder. I know it's supposed to be campy but in the scenes where they're on a rooftop the green screen just looks way too fake to not notice. Several special effects push the limits of cheesiness as well, but again most of it is intended I'm sure. The monsters look good and the buckets of blood are so over-the-top it becomes comical.

Overall I highly recommend you don't watch this unless you're prepared for filthy, gross mayhem. You know who you.

7/10

  1. Glad to read your review. I loved the first one, so I want to see this one, but I was a little nervous about it.

Sounds like something I would love.
