Synopsis: A story about the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook.
I don't have anything bad at all to say about this movie. The subject matter is very interesting, the script is fantastic and smart, the cast is all superb and the pace of the movie is just perfect. It's just movie-making and storytelling at it's finest. If you're not into the whole Facebook thing, don't fret. This film is much more about the founders than the actual website.
The film is very dialog driven but never dull. It's captivating in that most of us remember when Facebook came along and seeing this behind the scenes story is great. The story itself is very interesting with lawsuits, parties, drugs, sex and enough humor to keep it a bit on the lighter side. The characters are all strong, as are the actors playing them. Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg should win an Academy Award in my opinion. When the movie felt like it just might drag a bit, along comes Justin Timberlake as Shaun Parker (do you oldtimers remember Napster) and jumpstarts it with his bigger than life personality.
In the end, I'm not really sure how much of this is fact or fiction but it's definitely entertaining and compelling. I'm most amazed that the greatest social phenomenon possibly of all-time was started by a guy who is pretty much a social idiot. Now isn't that ironic... don'tcha think?
8.5/10
