So my St. Louis Cardinals officially made the post-season last night, albeit just a one-game playoff with the Braves on Friday so far. That still beats how Albert Pujols' season ended-up... with him having plenty of time off. I think it's fitting that greed carried him to where the most money was and they (the Angels) couldn't even overspend their way to a playoff spot. Now they've got 9 more years of a huge contract with a declining player while they have plenty of young talent that's going to need to be paid soon.
So how'd the greedy hombre end up? (with 1 game left)
* He hit 1 HR in September when they were pushing for the playoffs.
* He hit a very mortal .277 at home.
* He hit .257 in day games.
* He'll have career lows in avg, on-base, slugging and OPS.
But, he will get some extra time with his family this off-season, so there's that.
He can dream about the days in STL I guess where things like this happened along the way to their 11th World Series title in 2011...
