Synopsis: A video game villain (voiced by John C. Reilly) wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives.
If I had to describe this latest animated from Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1 word, it would probably be "clever". For all the people who constantly complain about nothing original ever coming out of Hollywood there should be a requirement to see this wonderfully entertaining film that has some familiar themes, but is wildly creative, original and has plenty of nostalgia.
It's pretty much equally entertaining for both kids and parents, and more so for the parents old enough to catch the classic 80s arcade game references. The world the characters live in is very creative and fascinating and offers a lot of great adventure for the very strong characters presented.
If you ever loved Mario Bros., Q-Bert, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Mario Cart, Tapper, Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, Sonic the Hedgehog or spent your afternoons in the 80s on your Atari 2600 or at the arcade daring each other to drop Mentos in Diet Coke cans, you've found your safe place.
Overall, Wreck-It Ralph is a clever, family-safe, colorful and full of adventure, nostalgia and heart. Very enjoyable.
8.5/10
